In late 2010 we applied and received a grant from Classroom First for the purchase of Apple iPads for use with our Year 1 and 2 students. The purpose of this innovative program is to stimulate our students in literacy learning in the areas of reading, phonics and spelling and ultimately improve student achievement. Teachers will be trained in the use and delivery of the iPad2 within the classroom over a series of Professional Development sessions. Student use of the iPads will start in early Term 2.
